Medeo Fencers at World Cups

On the international circuit recently we acknowledge great fencing performances by Alex Mills and Ben Wieder. At the Cadet Foil World Cup held in Bratislava, Slovakia, Alex recently made top 24, earning international points accompanied by Coach Slava. Also earning international points and currently ranked 3rd in the National Junior points standings is Ben Wieder, currently studying at UPenn. Accompanied by Coach Yakov, Ben traveled to both the Junior World Cup in Bratislava as well as the "Uhlmann Cup", Junior Epée World Cup in Laupheim, Germany. In Bratislava he made top 32 and in Laupheim he placed 14th, losing to the Silver medalist Mattheiu Boustany of France. In Laupheim, Ben experienced state-of-the-art fencing as the top 32 were fenced with the new wireless system for the first time in an international Epée competition. In January, both Alex and Ben will take part in the upcoming World Cups in Bonn, Germany and Budapest, Hungary respectively. We wish them the best of luck.
